盧煜明

(Y.M. Dennis Lo)

盧煜明教授是香港中文大學醫學院副院長（研究）及化學病理學系系主任。1997年🤾🏻，他在國際上首次發現孕婦外周血中存在遊離的胎兒DNA，並隨後成功研發出“無創產前診斷”（non-invasive prenatal testing, NIPT）🧮，該方法已被全球90多個國家及地區廣泛采用。他也在基於血漿遊離DNA的多癌無創早篩領域取得了卓越的成就🛀🏿。他是多個生物技術公司的聯合創始人🤍。盧煜明教授是英國皇家學會院士🕵️‍♀️、美國國家科學院外籍院士和香港科學院創院院士和院長，獲得2021年科學突破獎-生命科學獎和2022年拉斯克臨床醫學研究獎。

Professor Dennis Lo is the Associate Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Medicine and the Chairman of the Department of Chemical Pathology of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). In 1997, he was the first in the world to discover the presence of cell-free fetal DNA in maternal plasma. He has successfully developed non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), which is now widely adopted in over 90 countries. He has also made inventions for multi-cancer screening using blood plasma. He has co-founded a number of biotechnology companies. In recognition of his research, Professor Lo has been elected as Fellow of the Royal Society, Foreign Associate of the US National Academy of Sciences, President and Founding Member of the Academy of Sciences of Hong Kong, and given the 2021 Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences and the 2022 Lasker-DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award.
